Deregulators in the Super Committee

Share

Why did I bring up Glass-Steagall yesterday? When the announcements for the super committee were made I did some digging into each candidate. When I saw that Pat Toomey was one of the people responsible for the repeal of Glass-Steagall I shuddered.

Luckily there are 11 other members on the committee. Most of them are hardcore partisans, but there does seem to be some possibility in a deal making it through. The Republican hand seems a little weaker when it comes to the lines that maybe drawn (no taxes). I guess we’ll see how it goes.

Of course there is always the possibility that congress would just pass a new law abolishing the ‘triggers’ to come and ignore the super committee…. How is that for a conspiracy!?

About The Political Zealot

The Political Zealot is designed to bring independent analysis of politics from a Millennial's point of view. Being a Millennial, I am much more inclined to work together and come to a compromise than most of the Baby Boomers that are in Congress today. Because of this, The Political Zealot will strive to find ways to bridge the gaps of both sides of the political aisle and bring solutions to the table.
