Santorum has always seemed to be the angry candidate. I’ve always thought he just came off as an angry man. Well, he showed that this weekend, saying to a reporter that if he sees his words quoted unfairly, “it’s bullshit.”
When pressed about a recent comment Santorum made calling Mitt Romney the “the worst Republican in the country to put up against Barack Obama,” Santorum lost his cool. He was pressed repeatedly about those comments and apparently it pushed him over the edge. Santorum’s initial response to the question regarding his comments was, “I would say, as for, on the issue of health care, yes, that’s what I was talking about – Obamacare, as you heard me say. That’s what I said. I didn’t say anything different than that. That’s exactly what I said.”
Apparently, Santorum thought that was enough of an explanation because when he was pressed further about his outburst against Romney he said, “What speech did you listen to? Stop lying. To run against Barack Obama on the issue of health care, because he fashioned the blueprint. I’ve been saying it in every speech. Quit distorting our words. If I see it [in print], it’s bullshit. C’mon man, what are you doing?”
You heard it! Similar to Newt Gingrich way back at the beginning of the campaign, Santorum has now said that if he sees his own words in the news, “it’s bullshit.” Good to see his true form come out for everyone to see.
