Seven people are now dead and at least three more have been wounded in what police officials are calling an incident of domestic terrorism in Wisconsin. This weekend during traditional Sunday services at a Sikh Temple, a shooter described as a bald white male, came in shooting. Police believe this incident might be the act of a white supremacist or that the suspect may have been a ‘skinhead’. This is a developing story and as more details are available I will have more to say about the incident.
My first thought is that if this is an incident of domestic terrorism, I have a feeling the suspect meant to target Muslims and not Sikh’s. Just goes to show you how stupid people are if that was the case. My second thought is that I am glad the reports only hint at a single semi-automatic handgun being used in this shooting. Had the suspect used a semi-auto rifle with a 30 round or larger magazine this close to the Aurora shooting, the calls for gun control measures may not have been silenced. Luckily Congress is out of session for several weeks, so there will be no gun control measures implemented this month.
