VP Debate – The Winner Is?

Official portrait of Vice President of the Uni...

Last night was the one and only Vice Presidential debate, featuring Joe Biden vs Paul Ryan. It appeared to me early on that Ryan was letting his nerves get to him and compared to Biden, his experience level really showed. Biden out-shined Ryan in most of the exchanges and made direct pleas to the audience in some specific cases like Medicare and Social Security.

What I find interesting is that most polls of regular voters, most of which have already picked their side, put the debate at a tie or giving a slight edge to Ryan. The one decisive poll, which had Biden winning was one conducted by CBS which only polled undecided voters. Even though I have already picked my choice in this race, I still think like an undecided independent!

In the end, this debate won’t matter much. It does give Obama some ideas on how to come out swinging next Tuesday in the second presidential debate. Hopefully he took notes, otherwise he’s up for another beating!

About The Political Zealot

The Political Zealot is designed to bring independent analysis of politics from a Millennial's point of view. Being a Millennial, I am much more inclined to work together and come to a compromise than most of the Baby Boomers that are in Congress today. Because of this, The Political Zealot will strive to find ways to bridge the gaps of both sides of the political aisle and bring solutions to the table.
