  1. I hope all is well.

Dr. Cornel West and Mr. Tavis Smiley will be on a 10-city tour for their new book: The Rich and the Rest of Us: A Poverty Manifesto. This book openly discusses 1 out of every 2 Americans now classified as poor, new poor or near poor —chances are the person standing beside you is close to the poverty line.

As the nation still hemorrhages from the Great Recession and politicians demonize the poor, The New York Times bestselling authors and social justice advocates, Tavis Smiley and Cornel West, take aim at the “P” word – - poverty.

I am certain your readers will appreciate a piece on this pivotal subject.

  2. Hi–Just wondering if the email address listed above is still correct. I sent an email last month and received a “Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently” response.

  3. Wayne Gray says:

As much as I dislike Romney’s views on foreign policy, he might be just what we need over the next 4 years. First, he may be able to use his Bain Capital experience to downsize the Federal government. Second, he proved in Mass. that he CAN compromise with the Democrats and even go against the Republican Party leadership to get things done. That is exactly what we need! A President that can compromise in the name of progress. We have way too many idiologs in government that take too strong a stand on issues and refuse to compromise when it would be best for the country. Romney has a proven track record of compromise in the name of progress.
